You already have AirPods and MacBook. Now you’re ready to let them work together: but you don’t know how yet.
The good news is that AirPods have a pretty intuitive connection process, but you still need to know how to do it.
For AirPods connected to your iPhone
Step 1: Put your AirPods to your ear, and turn your Mac on and on.
Step 2: While your Mac is charging and you can access macOS, go ahead and look at the menu bar at the top right of your screen where you will be able to see all the active connections, settings, and apps for Mac.
One of these is the “Bluetooth” setting, which is characterized by a Bluetooth signal (usually found through a Wi-Fi signal). Make that choice.
Step 3: From the drop-down menu, go ahead and look for the name of your AirPod. Usually, the name is just “Your Name’s AirPods”. If you see it, it means that your Mac has detected the AirPods.
Select it and try to spin something. You can already hear loud, distinct sounds when your AirPods are plugged in.
For new AirPods
If your AirPods have never been connected to different Apple devices before, the setup process for a MacBook gets a little more complicated, but it’s still possible.
Step 1: For this option, keep your AirPods in the charging case and also activate the Mac to start up.
Step 2: Open the menu and choose “System Preferences” to get started. Select “Bluetooth” in the settings.
Step 3: After Bluetooth is on the left side, check if Bluetooth is turned on.
Step 4: Take the AirPod out of the case, open the lid for better connectivity, and turn it over so that you can see the back of the case. There is a button at the bottom of the center of the enclosure used for setup.
Activating this Bluetooth can be connected by nearby devices. Press and hold this setup button until the white status light next to it flashes.
Step 5: Now, go ahead and check out the Bluetooth section on Mac. The name of these AirPods should appear in the device list. Next to it is a blue button that says “Connect”.
Choose. Now you can try out your AirPods and make sure that they work properly when they are connected to your Mac.
